Kimmy Dunn was born and raised in Aiken, SC. You may remember her from her breakout role as ‘Baby Goat Puppet’ in The Sound of Music. Critics said her performance was ‘something else’ (Dave Dunn, Kimmy’s father).

She took a brief hiatus from the community theater world to go through puberty and experience existential teenage angst. After several years of being mediocre at sports, her mother suggested that she channel some of her dramatic tendencies back into The Aiken Community Playhouse, which just so happened to be holding auditions for Hairspray at the time. Kimmy walked away from that audition with friends for life...oh and a solid ensemble role as Lou Ann!

In 2015, she moved to New York City on scholarship to attend The American Academy of Dramatic Arts

Kimmy graduated from AADA in 2017 with the Max Fisher Award of Excellence. After graduating, she continued her studies at The Upright Citizens Brigade where she completed her core improvisation training. She now performs around the city with her indie team, Son Brothers. She feels incredibly fortunate to share her love of improv with kiddos at The Stage Theater School.

Some of Kimmy’s recent theater credits include The Lacy Project (Harriet), The Three Musketeers (Sabine), and Generation laz(Y) (Margaret Chatterly). This fall you can look out for Kimmy on Amazon Prime as Ami in My Condolences.

In her free time Kimmy enjoys sketch writing, storytelling, amateur baking, gardening, reading, light stretching, and hanging out with her friends and family.

She is represented by Andrew Wilson Agency in New York and New England.
